LE COIN FRANCOPHONE: BIENTÔT, LA FRANCE?

If you’re dreaming of traveling through France, speaking French while you’re there makes the experience even more meaningful – connecting you not only to the places you visit, but to the memories that brought you there.

Gordon was inspired by his first holiday abroad – an unforgettable road trip from East Central Scotland to the south of France in the early eighties.

In this nostalgic piece that he wrote for his homework, Gordon shares his story in French, weaving language learning with heartfelt reflection on travel, family, and the joy of returning to a place that shaped him.

Enjoy his story!

« LE COIN FRANCOPHONE » SERIES: #66 GORDON

With my recent activities in learning the French language, I thought that now might be the time to visit France again to test and bring on my language skills?

It has been a long time however since I visited, since the early eighties to be precise.

It was my first holiday abroad; I have fond memories as a boy traveling from East Central Scotland all the way down to the south of France in the boot of our blue family Volvo estate car.

My bed for a day or two there and back composed of sleeping bags and suitcases.

It has occurred to me that this is why I have suffered from back pain from my teenage years!

Despite this it remains my favourite holiday memory, so I thought I would share this with everyone.
