The way that doesn’t work

There are so many ways that you may have tried already.

Flash cards, reading, writing in the notebook, memorizing with songs, reading some more, watching movies, etc.

If you are reading this article, they may not have worked for you.

But if you are thinking to hire a teacher or tutor to help you enrich your vocabulary, I beg of you, don’t invest in that.

The way that works

You only need a French-French dictionary (hard copy or online).

Look for a word, and read its definition. When you don’t understand a word used in the definition, look up that second word. And so on.

The best and fastest way to learn new words (and remember them) is to use that tool.

But don’t cheat: don’t go to the English-French dictionary, because is less effort.

If you don’t enrich your vocab dramatically with a French-French dictionary, please write to me and let me know – I’d be very surprised. ; )

Did you find something you resonate with? I’d love to hear from you!

Bonne chance ! : )
