HOW TO GET TO PARIS IN 5 ESSENTIAL STEPS
So, did you always want to get to Paris but life happened, and it remained a far off dream?
With the right approach for learning French, and the right time management, being too busy can be managed, and your goal can become feasible.
Check out the article below for 4 quick essential steps to get to Paris even if you are too busy, and watch the video for some French worth seeing!
(This week: the verb VOIR – to see)
1. Believe it can happen.
Every action follows from a thought. Where you’re at, right this moment, is the result of every thought, feeling, and action you’ve chosen up until now. Given that, if your goal is to travel or move to Paris — you must at first believe that it’s possible.
If the focus of your actions is rooted in doubt or uncertainty (“This will never happen.” “I’ll never figure this out.” “It is too difficult.”) then…quite simply…you’ll never get there.
Condition yourself to choose thoughts around optimism and possibility and reap results in line with those intentions. Bottom line: To get to Paris, you first must believe you can get to Paris.
2. Embrace fear as your friend.
The feeling of fear is a natural one. There is no need to try and rid yourself of it. What you can do, though, is recognize that feeling afraid does not mean that you should stop what you’re doing.
We’ve come to believe that fear = stop. While in some life-threatening cases this might be true, when it comes to travel and change, fear oftentimes means that we’re coming up into something new, different, and expansive. We’re pushing our boundaries and our egos are in the background saying, “No! Do not change! Do not embrace this new thing! We are fine just as we are!” And fear sets in.
Pay attention to when you feel afraid and choose to interpret it as a good sign rather than a bad one.
3. Don’t live someone else’s life. And don’t let them live yours.
If you’re lucky, every person around you is incredibly supportive and excited about this trip you’re considering. If, however, there are naysayers, recognize that all they are doing is projecting their own beliefs, fears, and doubts onto your experience. It is not your responsibility to manage their uncertainty. Your only responsibility is to manage yours.
4. Begin with the end in mind…
If all you’re saying now is “next year I’ll travel to Paris,” it is not likely to come together. That goal is too vague, too unclear, and too easy to keep putting off. To Begin with the End in Mind is to make that goal so specific, rich, and colorful that you can’t help but start taking true, real steps towards making it happen.
Work on setting aside your fears, doubts, and “How” questions (“How will I save up the money?? How will I get off of work?? How will I tell my partner??”) and simply let yourself explore the 5 Ws — Where do you want to go? What do you want to do there? When and for how long? Who do you want to be with, if anyone? And WHY? What discoveries, about your world and about yourself, are you hoping to make through all of this?
5 …then break it down.
Once you’re feeling truly inspired by your Parisian travel goal, get honest and clear about what steps you need to take to make it happen. Then break those steps into smaller chunks. Tackle at least one or two each day in order to maintain forward momentum and the promise of realizing the amazing vision you’ve created for yourself. As fears and uncertainty creep in, stay clear on your thinking in order to produce the outcome you’re looking for. Your thoughts will drive your results.
