«Would you like to whisk off to Paris on a moment’s notice?

Or, better still, after you brush up your Parisian French?

Me, too!

Now is an excellent time to plan a trip. After all, life is short… and I have not yet experienced Paris.

In the meantime, my imagination whirls with the delights of this city. Here are my three top reasons I want to go to Paris.

1. The romance.
Paris is the city of love, is it not? I’m ready to stroll arm in arm with my beloved amid the scent of fresh beignets, the visual dazzle of roses, and snatches of accordion music. You can, too. But you’ll need to get your own beloved. Mon chéri is already taken.

2. The charm.
Everything and everyone, I’m sure, is charming in Paris. This goes for the Eiffel tower, a tattered treasure of La Belle et la Bête in a used bookstore, rows of fish on crushed ice at the fish monger’s, clusters of schoolchildren with navy uniforms and scraped knees, smartly dressed Parisian women running errands, and everything and everyone else in between. If you try to tell me otherwise, too bad. I’m NOT listening. To me, Paris is completely charming. Period.

3. The comedy.
I adore French comedies! Take Jacque Tati’s movies, such as Mon Oncle, or Francis Veber’s Le Placard and Tais Toi!. Are these set in Paris? I’m too busy laughing to know or care. Clearly, the French know and appreciate comedy. What more do I, a lover of laughter and comic relief, need to know? Put me on plane to Paris. Now.

What about you?

Have you ever been to Paris? If you’re still in the dreaming-of-going phase, tell me the top reason you want to go.

If you’ve been there before… lucky you! Tell me what you most enjoyed.

Want to go back? Tell me your Number 1 reason why.

Just do it.

My advice: Take a step toward your dream trip to Paris today. That could be researching the places you want to visit, checking to see if your passport is current, or something else. Then keep taking small steps each day and—voilà!—you’ll find yourself in Paris.

Be sure to look me up when you’re there, because I’m on my way, too!»
