MOULIN ROUGE TURNS GREEN FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SAINT PATRICK’S DAY

It would be hard to imagine Moulin Rouge turn green, and yet, in its entire history, today is the day when that will happen.

Paris to host its first official Saint Patrick’s Day parade.
From the Irish Cultural Centre, following a route through left-bank Latin Quarter and 5th arrondissement, the green parade will color the streets of Paris and enchant it with Irish music.
La basilique Sacré Coeur will be among the Parisian monuments that will be lit in green this week-end.
Here are the events organized by Le Centre Culturel Irlandais this weekend in Paris:
1pm, admission free
Atlas plays some tunes at lunchtime in preparation for the group’s full evening concert
7.30pm, reservation recommended, €15 (€12 for students and unemployed)
Chapel Sessions: Concert by Irish trad group Atlas who seamlessly blends old sounds and new
1pm – 5.30pm, admission free
Saint Patrick’s Family Day – Music, magic and mischief, face-painting, food trucks and The Green Goose pub… a great opportunity to dress up in green and join in the fun!
7.30pm, reservation recommended, €18 (€15 for students and unemployed)
Concert by Moxie: trad music revisited with touches of jazz, bluegrass, rock and funk
7.30pm, reservation recommended, €20
Concert by the virtuoso accordionist Sharon Shannon
Music, magic and mischief, face-painting, food trucks and The Green Goose pub… a great opportunity to dress up in green and join in the fun!
In fact, the festival is called St Patrick’s Family Day. I can’t see a good reason why families would miss this celebration of spring and new beginnings.
