The podcasts that don’t work

Many podcasts keep you very involved in fun stories.

That is great for when you want to *only* have fun – but they become distracting when you want to learn.

There is a good reason why sometimes school is a little boring, because this way you’ll pay attention to the WAY people speak, not only the story.

Also, podcasts that keep you too involved in listening – not good for helping you speak.

I cannot stress enough that passive listening is only training you to become a great… passive listener, not a speaker.

Short, one-minute podcasts are the most effective.

They keep you in the speaker seat, you don’t become a mesmerized audience.

They can be used anytime, even in the busiest day of the week – c’mon, you can fine ONE minute, can’t you? : )

You can play and replay and speak along.

Remember, if you listen, you train yourself to become a good listener. You need to practice speaking to become a good speaker.

Common sense, I know, but it’s surprising how many people think that they become better at conversation by listening to podcasts.

Did you find something you resonate with? I’d love to hear from you!

Bonne chance ! : )
