IS THIS WHAT YOU’RE TRYING TO ESCAPE FROM?
So, did you ever have the feeling that you needed to run away, to escape your everyday mundane surroundings to a magical place?
There’s a lot of talk and myth behind the ‘city of lights’ but you don’t realize how much of it is indeed true until you experience it for yourself.
If you ever get that feeling that you need to run away, don’t feel guilty if Paris first comes to mind.
Check out on the video below for some tips on your Parisian getaway and keep reading for some more insights from a small town girl on her escape to the big city.
(This week: the verb COURIR – to run)
The great escape
Hard to believe that it has been three months since I was strolling down the streets of Paris.
It was my first trip traveling far from home and this small town sweetie was scared.
The travel was intimidating but I knew I could get through it.
I was concerned with the language difference
but thanks to Llyane’s power hour, I was prepared to attempt the language.
We had arranged for direct transportation to the hotel from airport.
Things were taken care of ahead of time to prevent the fear from stopping me.
Our hotel was located in the St. Germain area and Tonya Leigh couldn’t have picked a better location.
It was such a beautiful area with the ability to walk to so many places!
We walked to see Notre Dame, The Louvre, and of course the St. Germain-des-pres.
The sites were marvelous and more magnificent than I imagined.
I enjoyed finding the bored gargoyle at Notre Dame and learning about why there were hundreds of locks on the bridges that crossed over the Seine River.
Lovers put the locks on the bridge and toss the keys into the Seine in love.
It makes me want to take my love to do the same.
Every girl dreams of seeing the Eiffel Tower.
Living in Ohio, we have our own Eiffel Tower that I went up in with my first real love but it is nothing like the real thing.
There is something magical that occurs the minute you see the real thing.
My first meeting was from afar and it was peeking through the buildings. This was also the first time I saw it twinkle at me. Breathtaking.
This girl was lucky to see it at day and night.
I highly recommend the same.
I was in awe of how different the French lifestyle is compared to life here.
They don’t walk around carrying their lattes while chatting on the phone. They dine not feed in a manner that is so seductive. Parisians buy fresh daily.
I wish we could bring more of that here. We could benefit from their lifestyle.
I’ll do what I can on my own to bring the French lifestyle into my home.
