THIS IS HOW TO FORGET YOUR SELF-DOUBT

self-doubt So, have you ever experienced self-doubt when trying to learn French?

How many of us are still searching to find our purpose in life, our true calling?

In a society where success is most commonly measured in financial terms, many people even today get lost in the race to get rich, and often forget to ask themselves what truly makes them happy.

Some say that this is where self doubt, anxiety and self-sabotage comes from, and below is an insightful interview with actor, director, writer and founder of “Committed Impulse”, Josh Pais.

It is a wonderful read that gets to the core of how we forget ourselves and our dreams in the madness which are the anxieties and doubts that surround us.

Check out the video below, that will show you what forgetting and French have in common!

(This week: the verb OUBLIER – to forget)

I used Committed Impulse in my acting career and when creating my method of teaching French conversation, and knowing this technique helps me learn much faster and perform better.

I want my current and future students to benefit from it as much as I have.

Now it’s even easier to learn with Josh, because he just launched an amazing online program.

This is the first part of the interview I had with Josh Pais. I would like to thank him for graciously accepting to answer my questions!

Thank you so much, Josh, for being here with me, in this interview!

Our readers may not know, but I am one of your very loyal students, and Committed Impulse is the one technique (or lifestyle) that helped me tremendously in my acting career, business and life.

While teaching French, I always see speaking a new language like performing a play: you have to learn new words, somebody else’s language, then you have to be in the moment, to be in a conversation, to use them as if they were yours.

I know that you’ve just launched your online Committed Impulse program, which I’m very excited to start – and I know that all my students would greatly benefit from it.

Can we dissect a little the benefits of CI for learning a foreign language?

First, what is Committed Impulse?

Committed Impulse is a high performance training for actors, artists and entrepreneurs. This work is for everyone who has to put themselves out into the world. CI teaches you how to bypass self-doubt, second guessing yourself, and how to deal with nervousness, anxiety and fear so that those sensations will never get in your way again. The result: you’re going to create and communicate at your highest potential – and you’re going carry out your life’s work with passion and fun.

These are some of the questions that my students ask frequently:

Q: How would being in the moment help me when I learn a language?

A: First off, I have found one of the major obstacles in learning anything, is having self defeating thoughts. It’s very common for our mind to tells us some version of “You’ll never learn this”, or “You’re just not smart enough.” Plus when we do something new it’s not uncommon to get nervous or uncomfortable.

With Committed Impulse people learn how to be free of the self-sabotaging thoughts that often stop us. Plus you’re going to learn how to handle fear and nervousness once and for all.

Q: How can I be in the moment and learn in the same time?

We all know that learning a new language is a mind exercise.

A: When you are in the moment – you are an open vessel to absorb new content. Being in the moment will radically increase your productivity and learning a language will become a fun adventure.
