THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL OF AUTUMN IN PARIS HAS A SURPRISE FOR YOU

Festival of Autumn Paris

So, have you ever been at Le festival d’automne in Paris?

It’s art on top of art, before and after art.

We celebrate the festival of autumn and have a surprise for you too, at the bottom of this page.

We hope you’ll remember it and, if you don’t go to the shows this year, maybe you’ll remember it for the next.

Read the article below to see what you can expect from this artistic event, and watch the video for a sneak peek to boost your curiosity.

This year is a very special edition of the Festival d’Automne à Paris.

The 49th edition of the Festival, in association with 55 partner venues in Paris and in Ile-de-France, takes place between September 5, 2020 and February 7, 2021.

Wow, quite a long autumn, you could say. And you’d be right.

Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Festival has redesigned this year’s edition with the aim of standing by artists, authors, partners, audiences.

The dates for some programs have been postponed to January and February 2021 too. This is why this edition of the Festival will be exceptionally extended to February 7, 2021. It usually ends on December 31st.

Pretty generous!

While many cultural events have been canceled or postponed due to the health crisis, the Festival of Autumn has decided to reinvent itself.

For its 49th edition, the event has adapted to the particular post-confinement situation, however maintaining more than 75% of its usual schedules.

This is a real challenge for the festival, where the keyword remains direct exchange with the public.

By inviting artists to share their recent creations, born under the age of the global pandemic, or to reinvent their shows, the Fall Festival shows that it knows how to adapt.

The Festival is eager to treat you with a set of free events that will combine theatre, dance, music, and intellectual debate.

So, what to see during the festival?

First, you’ll be delighted by free cultural awareness workshops in the gardens, shows danced around the theme of Africa, or a portrait dedicated to the dancer and choreographer Boris Charmatz.

The festival will host a total of more than 75 events, spread from September to February. Among them in particular, the eagerly awaited tribute to Dieter Roth, directed by Swiss director Christoph Marthaler, will be held in November at the Théâtre des Amandiers in Nanterre.

Also, two operas will be in the program at the Bouffes du Nord theater.
