I HAVE A HARD TIME MAKING FRENCH SENTENCES

hard time making french sentencesSo, do you have trouble making French sentences?

It can be draining to always look for those little linking words, no?

Making a sentence in French may not be your first and obvious goal when you start learning French. You may want to speak fluently, make friends, read the French menu in the restaurant as if you cooked it.

Be chic.

But once you start the first lessons, you quickly learn that making a sentence in French is the be-all and end-all.

Read the article to find out what is the one mindset shift that you need to make for a quantum leap in your French sentences, and watch the video for some French worth writing about.

(This week, verb ÉCRIRE – to write)

Once you make friends with the idea that the French sentences is what you should become masterful at, your goal to speak like a natural will move closer to you faster than you thought.

There’s a very simple shift that has to happen before you are ready to learn French.

It is the idea that it’s OK to “sound like a child”, that there is no such thing as a sentence that is “too simple”, that it’s no need to rush when you speak.

This shift alone will make or break your experience with French.

Some people are still “trying” to speak, after years and years of courtship, they are still not committed to speaking the language.

And you shouldn’t forget one thing: the more French you know, the less you’ll feel like starting to speak. Because starting to speak will always sound “childlike” and you will see this huge difference between what you know and what you can say – quite demoralizing.

Knowing the language and speaking the language are two different things – different parts of the body and the mind are taking care of them, so don’t expect them to be in sync.

What you should do instead is to start speaking from day 1, as soon as you know some words and verbs. Start building your confidence and don’t try to make long, sophisticated sentences. Start with simple and short – your focus should be on clear communication, and you’ll be golden!

This is what I do in the J’Ouellette® Intensif program, and people are raving about it – the June Special ends June 19th, and price will go up next month.
