This is why my new French method is called "J'Ouellette"

THIS IS WHY MY NEW FRENCH METHOD IS CALLED “J’OUELLETTE”

j-ouellette puppetDo you ever wonder why my method is called J’Ouellette® and not Stanfield or something taken from my own name?

Want to know who’s the secret mastermind behind the scenes, and see J’Ouellette in action?

The story of the name comes from our mascot, the sock puppet.

She’s fun, she’s hip, she’s French Toast.

Ouellette is learning French: J’Ouellette, Tu Ouellette, Il Ouelle…

She thinks that she can conjugate her name. Anyone else made this mistake when they first began learning French?

Who is to correct her?

She is so passionate about her discovery that now it’s hard to convince her otherwise. It takes me lots of time and energy to get her to conjugate normal verbs: she finds them boring.

But, oh, her name is exquisite and she doesn’t have enough of it!

Wish me luck!

Look at her in action at the end of my Daily Minute with J’Ouellette videos:

We have had lots of fun working together, though, and on February 9, 2002 we introduced to the World a method that has no equal.

It’s fun, it’s hip, it’s French Toast, just like J’Ouellette.

We perform our language, we don’t just learn it – because we want to speak it, not to talk about it – and we are really good at it, just read what J’Ouellette’s students are saying about their experience with this method.

And it’s hard to deal with a bored sock puppet, or student, or client, so I found that the best way to teach French is to first learn how people like to learn.

Nothing is like organically learning to speak a language, seeing from the beginning that we make progress with what we want most: speaking it. Sure, grammar, writing, other elements of the learning are there too, but we do speak French every lesson, even with beginners, and that’s what makes it so much fun.

I hope you’ll join us too! : )
