THIS IS THE WORST CHRISTMAS GIFT ONE CAN EVER GET
So, are you done with your Christmas shopping?
Most of us are never done, even on the 24th.
I must confess, I still have no clue, and that’s because I want to give the best of the best to my best peeps.
Read the article below, to find out the what could be your worst Christmas gift, and watch the video to inspire you to make a better choice.
(This week, verb DONNER)
December, and I’m seeing the year ending.
Why don’t I actually think about Christmas, and festive times?
Sure, that too, but the festive times are the easy part, they come.
Maybe dealing with the family is a little bit of a challenge for most of us.
But other than that it’s mostly about enjoying placing the ornaments in the tree, planning the meal of the Christmas dinner, sending greeting cards…
We can play victim by choosing to get overwhelmed about all these little jobs, but let’s be honest, we enjoy this time of the year a lot.
Probably even more than we enjoy our summer vacation, because the whole family (no matter the conflicts that keep popping up at the dinner table) is there for the lucky ones.
The quirks of cousin John and aunt Jenny, annoying as they may be, they are familiar, allowing us to relax into warm slippers, hot tea or coffee, the nagging grandma who’s there just to love us a little bit more this year.
What I see after this magical time, though, is that most of us end up berating ourselves either for the time spent with the family.
“I could have watched a French movie instead, but nobody cared for it”.
Or for the food we ate.
“So many calories, I’ll kill myself again on the treadmill.”
Or making a list of what we had planned for 2019 that we never got to do, and transferring them on a fresh sheet of paper titled 2020.
All these things sitting at the back of our mind poisoning a little (or more) the magical Christmas time, the family time, the time we supposedly give to ourselves, THEY make aunt Jenny more annoying: worst gift ever.
Think about it.
When you’re happy, everything makes you laugh. When you’re stressed out, everything pushes a red button.
So why not getting to the root of the problem?
If you want to learn French (I’m assuming that this is why you’re reading this article), then please don’t rely on New Year’s resolutions.
Write that list only if you want to avoid doing something about it.
What I want you to do is this:
1. Decide when you’d like to speak French at a high intermediate to low advanced level, or when you want to go on the French Immersion Retreat trip in Paris.
2. Reverse engineer the plan, knowing that it takes you 5 months to accomplish it, if you can give yourself one hour / day of practice; reduce the time if you can dedicate more time, or extend the time if you can give yourself less than that.
3. Mark in your calendar the date when you have to register for the J’Ouellette® Extensif program.
Done!
Now, you can relax, enjoy your Christmas shopping (don’t use your Credit Card for that if you can), your eggnog and your aunt Jenny.
This magical time is here for you to cuddle up and be taken care of your family.
Joyeux décembre,
Llyane
NOW IT IS YOUR TURN!
What is the date you could write in your calendar, when you want to absolutely become fully conversational in French? 🙂
Let me guess.
Do you constantly have the feeling that you can’t hear what the French say and you don’t know how to read all the French words because they are written so much differently than they sound?
Learn 3 secrets that will help you be self sufficient in the way you pronounce French words – even if you don’t know what they mean – so that you can read that sophisticated menu in your favorite French restaurant.
Immerse yourself as you FINALLY reach your dream of becoming bilingual, learn to speak Parisian French on Skype and BREAK your language barrier!
…and now, please SHARE this article with your friends. They’ll love you for it! : )
Always in your corner,
Llyane

A lovely gift idea indeed, the gift of learning the beautiful French language.
Merci, Nancy, I think it is. 🙂
Joyeux Noël !
